The forecast didn’t look very good, but when did that stop anyone? My wing is at The Loft for a service, but my wife’s wing is sitting in the spare room unused. On arrival at Harting, the wind is blowing nicely at 15mph but gusting to 20mph at times. On unfamiliar kit, I am more cautious than usual so I sit it out and watch Simon Vacher flying amongst the hang gliders. After some parawaiting the gusts appeared to have mellowed somewhat, so there was no more excuses. Flying was typical Harting, nice once you got high but rough and lacking in lift lower down. Certainly not a site to be scratching around. In the end, we flew until it started to get dark, followed by a quick pack and brisk walk to the car before it got too dark to see the dog poo. A lovely days flying in the end and it looked like everyone went home happy!
